"The Get Outta Jail Free Tape" comprises the first volume of the B-Side First! series, which assembles songs from John's vault of cassette tapes and other unreleased demos into individual albums.

"The Get Outta Jail Free Tape" is a collection of songs recorded in the basement mostly from the age of 15-16, when John was first experimenting with his 8-track and making cassette tapes that no one could play, because no one has tape players anymore. Maybe this will change that.
